Lusaka Family Church

In 2002, God spoke to Pastors Arnold & Gisela Nel our Lead Eldership couple about going to the nations, so Ps Arnold joined a ministry team from their local church in Pietermaritzburg South Africa (North Hills Church) that was going to Francis Town, Botswana, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and then to attend the annual leadership Training Time(LTT) in Harare. God spoke clearly to him that their future was in the Nations – Mathew 28:18-20.

Thereafter he took every opportunity to travel with and be part of the numerous NHC ministry teams that were travelling into Zimbabwe to serve and minister in the local NCMI relating churches in the Chinoyi/Lions Den area of Zimbabwe. On one of these ministry trips, he was staying with Bruce and Sue Douglas in Lions Den and on the Friday afternoon he was relaxing in the pool. Bruce mentioned the ministry needs in Zambia. God dropped Zambia into Pastors heart, he kept it to himself waiting on God to confirm it.

In 2005, God spoke loudly and clearly to his wife Ps Gisela re the “call to go to the nations”. Together they attended the NCMI LTT in Harare in July of 2005. Again God confirmed His call to “go to the nations”.  So in September they attended the “NCMI Bloem LTT” and most of the messages were Apostolic in that they heard “GO TO THE NATIONS.”  On the journey back home Ps Arnold felt God say to him “Zambia,” he mentioned it to Ps Gisela, but she was not 100% convinced. They discussed this “call” with Pastors Kevin & Debbie Jones, Apostles Ray & Moira Oliver, both couples are on the NCMI Apostolic team, they both advised the need to “put their feet on the ground and spy out the land”.

So in December 2005 they visited Lusaka, God confirmed the “call to plant a church in Lusaka”. They went home and began the planning to relocate to Lusaka. After a few setbacks, God said to Ps Arnold – “He will make a way in the wilderness where there is no way”. In August 2006 they attended the NCMI Church Planters course in South Africa which greatly prepared them and impacted them, and once again God confirmed His call to plant a church in Lusaka. During 2006/07 they met and made friends with some wonderful saints of God in Lusaka who supported them in prayer and helped them get their work permit. In November 2007, Ps Benard Sakala phoned Pastor Arnold with the good news that their work permit had been approved. They earnestly finalized their arrangements and in April 2008 arrived in Lusaka. They began a small home group in May and on 1 June 2008 Lusaka Family Church was launched at Le Soleil conference hall. After 10 months they relocated the church to Mulungushi Village on Lunsemfwa Road, Kalundu. God blessed the work and the church began to grow and in 2010 the 2nd congregation in Ngombe was planted.

October 2013 under the guidance of our Apostolic Team the 2nd Eldership couple  – Sony and Shary Edwin were ordained. In 2013 Chikoloma village satellite in the Chongwe district was planted. In Oct 2017 an additional Eldership couple Chibulu & Fridah Musonda were ordained as Elders at LFC.
